My journey at SDM Post Graduate Center has been a cornerstone in my personal and professional development and a transformative journey. During my time here, I was privileged to serve as the President of the Student Consortium, which greatly enhanced my leadership skills and provided me with numerous opportunities to represent our institution, my alma mater. One of the most enriching experiences was the trip to the UK, at the College of Glasgow, Scotland which gave me a global perspective and practical insights into international business practices where I could gain international exposure as well as learn about a new culture. The hands-on learning approach at SDM allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios, practicing every aspect in the extension activities conducted in various local institutions in and around dakshina kannada, which significantly improved my confidence and presentation skills.
The teaching at SDM Post Graduate Center is nothing short of exceptional. The professors are not just educators but mentors who are deeply invested in their students’ success. Their innovative teaching methods, including interactive classes, group discussions, and real-world projects, ensure that learning is both comprehensive and enjoyable. The curriculum is designed to be industry-relevant, preparing us thoroughly for the professional world. The unwavering support and mentorship from our wonderful professors were instrumental in my growth. They created an engaging learning environment that helped me overcome my stage fear
and develop strong communication skills. Preparing for the NAAC accreditation was a challenging yet rewarding experience, teaching us the value of hard work, dedication, and teamwork as we worked day and night to achieve our goals.
Events, fests, and conferences at SDM were always a highlight. Every occasion, from the vibrant Dandiya Night to various academic conferences, was a hit, fostering a strong sense of community and camaraderie among us students. The festivities were not only fun but also a great way to learn hospitality and event management. I owe a significant part of my success to the guidance and support of Dr. Seema Shenoy, our esteemed Director. Her incredible role in shaping my journey cannot be overstated. Her mentorship helped me navigate through challenges and emerge as a confident and capable individual.
SDM Post Graduate Center has truly been the place where I got all my life lessons, got rid of my stage fear, developed essential leadership, management and hospitality skills, and built a foundation for my future. I am grateful for every moment spent here and for the lifelong memories and friendships made. Thank you, SDM, for shaping me into the person I am today.
