Workshop on “Inspired to Dream, Empowered to Achieve” organized by Rotaract Club of SDM MBA and Rotary Club of Mangalore
December 20, 2025Students of the SDM College of Business Management, Post Graduate Centre for Management Studies and Research, Mangaluru, part of the Rotaract Club of SDM MBA, attended a Pre-Hospital Care & Basic Life Support (BLS) Session conducted by KMC Hospital, Mangaluru (Kasturba Medical College) on Friday, 19th December 2025, organised in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Mangalore.
The session was conducted with the objective of creating awareness about emergency preparedness and imparting essential life-saving skills required during medical emergencies. A total of 15 students participated in the programme.
Medical professionals from KMC Hospital, Mangaluru, served as the resource persons for the session. The training covered vital topics including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) demonstration, recognition and management of stroke, heart attacks, identification of the initial stages of a heart attack, accident response, and basic emergency aid.
The session included practical demonstrations and interactive discussions, enabling participants to gain hands-on exposure to emergency response techniques. The training enhanced participants’ confidence and understanding of the immediate steps to be taken during critical situations before advanced medical assistance arrives.
The session was particularly beneficial for management students, especially those aspiring to careers in Human Resource Management, as it highlighted the importance of workplace safety, employee well-being, and emergency response planning in organizations.
Overall, the session proved to be a valuable learning experience, equipping students with essential knowledge and practical skills to respond effectively to medical emergencies.
