July 1, 2025Institute in collaboration with Youth For Nation organized a Mock Parliament session on 26th June, 2025 to mark the 50th anniversary of India’s Emergency Declaration in 1975.
The event featured MBA students, faculty and distinguished guests, including Chief Guest Captain Brijesh Chowta, Honorable MP (Lok Sabha), for a day of insightful debate.
Captain Chowta delivered the inaugural address, drawing parallels between military discipline and parliamentary duties, highlighting the importance of democratic values. An interactive Q&A session saw students posing thoughtful questions on governance challenges.
Mr. Dheeraj Muniraju, MLA Doddaballapur, inspired attendees, while Mr. Nandan Mallya, BJP District Yuva Morcha President and Youth For Nation Coordinator, played a key role in the event’s success. Mrs. Deepa Nayak P., Assistant Professor, presided in the absence of Director Dr. Seema S. Shenoy.
Mr. Dawn Prakash, Faculty Coordinator, acted as the Speaker of the Assembly while few students played the roles of Ruling and Opposition Party in the Mock Parliament. Students engaged in lively discussions, debating the Emergency’s constitutional impact, media censorship, and fundamental rights.
Cash Prizes & Awards were presented to Miss Anmol Nagraj Shet (Best Ruling Party Leader) and Mr. Sushanth S. (Best Opposition Leader). The event underscored SDM PG Centre’s commitment to blending academic rigor with real-world relevance.
