Indian Knowledge System (IKS) Cell organized ‘Kesardonji Dina’

The Indian Knowledge System (IKS) Cell successfully organized ‘Kesardonji Dina’, a unique celebration of rural life, traditional games and indigenous knowledge, on 14th July 2025 at Bhandary Gadde, Yekkur, Mangalore.

The event was inaugurated by Mr. Dinakar Shetty, Advocate and State Legal Advisor of ACSA.
Dr. Seema S. Shenoy Director of SDM PG Center, said, “Through the IKS Cell, we aim to bridge ancient wisdom with modern education. Kesardonji Dina is a step towards experiential learning rooted in our culture.”

The program was graced by the presence of Mr. Vedvyas Kamath MLA Mangalore City South and patrons of traditional arts, among other distinguished guests, faculty and students.
‘Kesardonji Dina’, brought together students and faculty for a day of traditional sports and activities reflective of coastal Karnataka’s agrarian lifestyle. Events such as volleyball, throwball, running race & tug-of-war in the field created a vibrant and festive atmosphere.
The event reached its zenith with a traditional lunch served on eco-friendly areca palm leaf plates, adding a touch of cultural authenticity and sustainability, further enhancing the immersive rural experience.
