The SDM MBA program recently concluded its highly anticipated FunDustrial Tour 2025, where 72 students accompanied by faculty leads Mr. Dawn Prakash and Mrs. Asha Shetty embarked on an immersive industrial journey across Kerala from June 9th–14th, 2025. This unique experiential learning initiative blended education with real-world industry exposure, living up to its innovative “FunDustrial” concept.
The tour featured visits to three distinct industries, each offering valuable management insights. At Kanan Devan Hills Plantations, students explored the complete tea production cycle while learning about sustainable practices and participatory management models. The Macofa Chocolate Factory visit revealed the art and science behind chocolate-making, emphasizing quality control and market strategies. The final stop at Kerala Agro Machinery Corporation (KAMCO) showcased precision engineering in agricultural equipment and rural empowerment initiatives.
The tour successfully bridged classroom theory with practical application while fostering teamwork among participants. Memorable moments included chocolate tasting sessions, robotic welding demonstrations, and insightful Q&As with industry leaders.
